The University of Cambridge, St. John's College, Cripps Building

- Shortlisted FX International Interior Design Award 2019 -

Eve Waldron Design were engaged to design the interiors and supply all furniture and window treatments for this penthouse set for visitors at the top of the Grade II* listed Cripps Building for St John's College.

Built in the 1960s, the wonderful views, cool concrete, teak floors, and bronze ironmongery informed our choices for the refurbishment.

This set features furniture and lighting either designed during - or with a nod towards the mid-century period.

Bespoke two toned upholstered seat cushions were added to the scheme and sit atop the original slatted teak benches in both rooms. Cushions were made using Eve’s custom designed fabrics, a bold design with an unusual 1.5 m repeat, so no two cushions are alike. She also designed the yellow ’grass’ fabric for the bed cushions.
