Early Cancer Institute, Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Working closely with the client and end-user team, we developed the interior design and space planning across four floors – from the ground-floor arrival experience and Café Hub to flexible meeting and seminar spaces, offices, write-up areas and quiet workspaces. We also designed the signage and wayfinding and bespoke joinery throughout.

The Café Hub provides choice through a variety of settings. Booths offering a degree of enclosure. Lounge settings support informal conversation. Communal tables bring larger groups together, while smaller tables allow individuals or pairs to work or meet without occupying a formal meeting room.

“It doesn’t feel like a conventional university building.”

This is exactly what we hoped to achieve: a thoughtful and contemporary workplace with a strong identity.
